Why people want it
Most online arguments die in the gap between what someone said and what you argue against. A commenter writes “the bike-lane pilot cut car-lane capacity” and a reply attacks “bike lanes are a conspiracy.” Neither side ever actually talked. This browser extension closes that gap the way a debate class does: it refuses to post your reply until you can restate the other person’s argument in your own words.
People want it because arguing past each other is exhausting. If you genuinely understand the other side well enough to summarize it, you either discover your disagreement is real and productive, or you realize you were angry at a strawman. Communities get fewer pure flamewars, and lurkers get a thread that isn’t two monologues shouting into the void.
